Society for Human Dynamics in Project Management (SHDxPM)
The Society for Human Dynamics in Project Management (SHDxPM) is an attempt to organize, create a collegial effort, and draw together individuals interested in the research, establishment, and ongoing refinement of a body of knowledge associated with the subject of human dynamics in project management. Individuals interested in engaging in "the conversation" are welcome whether practitioner or academic.
The human experience is welcome as is those theoretical constructs from which much of our understanding and practice in the work space today had its first emergence in days gone by. However, we really don't want to remain inclined and dependent on past insights except where they may give a hint of, or help make sense of, where we are presently and where we might be going in our knowledge and understanding.
This effort is open to all who are interested in meaning-full dialog about the topic of human dynamics. The ongoing exchange is intended to explore and more fully apprehend the human condition, especially from the particular "observation post" found within the formal discipline of project management and its primary agent, the project manager/leader. That does not mean if you are not a project manager or participate in a project management related activity or function that you are not welcome. Just keep in mind that the environmental lens through which much of the conversation will be viewed and make sense is project management.
